Erasmus+ Adult Education: Meath Partnership

30 January 2025

Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnerships projects are supported under Key Action 2 within the Erasmus+ programme. This action aims to help adult education organisations enhance their capacity to collaborate at a transnational level, fostering the internationalisation of their activities through knowledge exchange and the development of new practices and methods. Meath Partnership delivers a diverse range of rural, social, and economic programmes across County Meath. The organisation is dedicated to supporting individuals and local community groups by offering mentoring, support, training opportunities, and valuable information to empower their local community.

Through their Erasmus+ project, Digital Upbringing, Meath Partnership has collaborated with five European partners to support local families in addressing online safety. Read on to discover the impact of their project both in Ireland and across Europe!

Collaborating with partners across Europe, the Digital Upbringing project aimed to raise awareness of how parents can support their families in using digital tools and online media safely, responsibly, securely, and creatively. The project has provided parents with a secure and supportive environment to address the challenges of discussing online safety with their children. As part of the project, the team developed open-access workshops to support parents and families in navigating the digital world. This project has fostered important and inclusive dialogues, helping to boost parents’ confidence in discussing difficult topics

“We delivered a Digital Parenting Workshop to a group of Ukrainian parents. What impressed me was the impact it had on the parents who were struggling to adjust to the culture in Ireland where young children have unlimited access to the digital world.”

Aoife Malone, Global Citizenship & Integration Officer

To support and enhance the digital skills and knowledge of parents across Europe, Meath Partnership, along with their five Erasmus+ partners, conducted focus groups to gather insights tailored to the specific needs of families in both urban and rural areas. By collaborating with families and providing educational resources, this project has fostered inclusive dialogues, empowering parents to build confidence in addressing challenging topics. Erasmus+ projects like Digital Upbringing showcase how Erasmus+ can drive lasting change by addressing the unique challenges of today’s digital age and empowering European families.
