Erasmus+ Adult Education: Ballymun Job Centre

30 January 2025

Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnerships projects are supported under Key Action 2 within the Erasmus+ programme. This action aims to help adult education organisations enhance their capacity to collaborate at a transnational level, fostering the internationalisation of their activities through knowledge exchange and the development of new practices and methods.

Through their participation in the Erasmus+ programme, The Ballymun Job Centre (BJC) showcases the transformative power of EU-funded projects in enhancing employability and empowering individuals. Their projects have fostered invaluable learning opportunities and strengthened collaborative partnerships across Europe. One such project, Digital Empow(H)er, addresses the structural challenges women face in the labour market, including limited mobility, lower wages, and care responsibilities. Read on to hear from Tomás Bulnes, Innovation Project Manager, as he shares his eye-opening experiences from this impactful project.

Digital Empow(H)er is about empowering women to boost their self-confidence in their own abilities, embrace learning opportunities, and unlock their full potential. In today’s ever-evolving society and modern job market, digital skills are essential. The project is dedicated to providing digital upskilling training, helping women gain access to and make the most of digital resources. By combining these concerns with the growing need for digital skills, Digital Empow(H)er creates innovative, adaptable tools and approaches.

The implementation of the Digital EmpowHer project has taught me a lot about representation, breaking stereotypes and active listening.

Tomás Bulnes, Innovation Project Manager

The project’s outcomes included a blueprint for empowering women and lifelong learning, a training curriculum for practitioners, and guidance on empowering women in a digital working environment. Projects like Digital Empow(H)er demonstrate how Erasmus+ can create lasting change by addressing systemic challenges and empowering individuals.
