Reporting the impact of your project – Social Impact Measurement Workshop

2 October 2024 | Youth Work Ireland, Dublin

The workshop will be delivered by Philip Isard, Senior Project Specialist with Quality Matters, an independent research charity specialising in research, evaluation and impact measurement in the Irish non-profit and charity sector. In this workshop, we will discuss and explore different topics as well as share examples of how similar organisations have evaluated their work. The topics covered will include:

• Why is social impact so important?

• What are the key concepts used in social impact measurement?

• What is a logic model? Why are logic models necessary in evaluation?

• How are different outcomes measured or evaluated (i.e., cultural, economic, social, wellbeing; environmental, etc.)? What methods/approaches are used to gather data?

• What are some examples of tools, surveys or questions for measuring outcomes? What if you are interested in creating your own survey questions?

• What is a social impact strategy? What good practice or supports are required to measure outcomes effectively?

• What are the steps in any impact measurement approach? What are the immediate next steps for any organisation?

It is expected this will be an interactive, engaging and challenging workshop where we’re encouraging people to bring real-life examples from their work into exercises and conversation.
